Time-Lapse: Installation of Sol LeWitt at the Met, Days 1-3

Words appear: Sol LeWitt at the MET. Wall Drawing Number 370. Day One to Three. Time-lapse photography shows installers beginning work on Sol LeWitt’s wall composition. Room dividers fold up, revealing the wall. The stark white surface extends along one side of a wide space. Standing on portable scaffolds and step ladders, the installers take measurements, draw lines in pencil, and apply masking tape. As they work, they consult designs displayed on a table. The installers cover the wall with sketch-outlines of geometric figures. Day One to Three Copyright 2014 The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
