Front Door Christmas Decorations Part 2|Christmas 2018

Hello i’m, Jennifer with Jennifer Decorates, and today’s video is going to be part two of my front porch decorations. So stay tuned. So, for the second part of my front porch decorating I’m going to decorate these urns. Now they do have a little bit of dirt in them. Not all the way up – So the first thing I want to do is – I’m going to use a little bit of -like bubble wrap and fill it up. So basically all that’s gonna do is just separate my Christmas decorations from the dirt. I don’t want to dump the dirt out I want to have the weight in the urn. The first thing I’m gonna do is I’m going to add this lighted cone. I actually got this – we have an Old Time Pottery near your house, and I got this at for $12.99. Before you do any decorating that has something that’s pre lit – I always say plug it in first before you start doing all the decorating and realize it doesn’t work! So I’m gonna do that. All right, now that I know it works, I have got two styrofoam blocks and I’m going to wedge those in on each side of the lighted Christmas tree and make sure that it’s sturdy in there before I start adding everything else. Now that I’ve got that wedged in there, I am going to take a grapevine wreath and lay it on the top. And, this is actually going to be the base for me building the greenery and adding everything else to this urn. The next thing I want to do is I’m going to add some more Christmas lights. I’m going to add a hundred count lights and I’m going to wind it around the grapevine and kind of tuck it in around the little Christmas tree. While you’re adding your lights you can kind of put a few of the little bulbs tucked into the grapevine just for added security. The next step is to add the greenery around the little snow tree. And on top of the grapevine and hide the lights. What’s gonna make this so easy is, I’m going to use two swags and they’re the ones with the little round little hook on the top and I’m going to just circle them around the grapevine wreath and then attach the two little hooks in the back. So I want to give the greenery around the urn a little bit more texture, and I want to make it a little bit fuller. So I’m gonna add two different kind of Christmas sprigs. You can just choose whatever you want. I liked these – they’re kind of long and a little bit loopy. So these are the ones I’m going to stick in the grapevine wreath and let them kind of trail over the urn just a little. But , next I’m going to add some greenery with a little bit of snow on them. So here’s the next sprigs I want to add. These have snow on them. I actually bought them in a longer stem and then snipped the smaller pieces. But I wanted to do a little bit of snow because the swags hanging from my lanterns have some bits of snow, and I kind of want it to all to go together. And I tell you that the grapevine makes it so easy to add these sprigs. It sticks right in there. All right now I’m ready to add the bow to the front of this urn. And I’ve already got it made and wired and I’m going to add it right to that grapevine. So the last thing I need to do is add the ornaments, okay, I’m getting a little squirreled. . . So we live across the street from a church and a dad is teaching his son how to drive. He’s getting frustrated. Been there done that got the wrinkles to prove it! Okay, back to decorating. So the ornaments – of course I got shatterproof. Even though I have a covered porch. I still want to use ones that may do better in the weather. floral wire. Wire them together. I’m actually gonna add four ornaments, but I’m only gonna put three on this wire ,and I’ll show you why. I’m just gonna take the wire and twist it and see how that kind of pulls them together Then I’m gonna attach it. All right, it’s hard to do when your fingers are cold. Okay, so this is the fourth ornament I’m gonna add it actually came with a really long string. So I’m going to cut it in half. Wrap it around this first ornament and tie it in a knot. Thank you so much for watching! I am totally ready to go inside and get some hot chocolate because I am freezing! But be sure to subscribe to my channel. I’m gonna have some more fun Christmas videos coming out in just a few days

I love seeing how you put all the elements together! I am using a lot of reds and pine…but using the wreath as the frame for other greenery is genius! Thanks Jennifer for all your amazing videos!

Very nice! Will you put out garland around your door or porch post? I don't want to do a lot this year outside. So I was wondering if the porch pots & door wreath be enough or would it look unfinished?

Wow Jennifer I can't express enough how beautiful these pots look. I'm enjoying these Christmas decorating videos so much. Such fantastic ideas. Looking forward to more of them. I hope you are planning a Christmas home tour. Take care and God bless!

I love how you layered each element on the planters, came out so pretty as usual. I am going to attend to follow through with my Christmas decorating. Usually after i put up the tree, add decorations to the dining room, kitchen etc. All my lofty ideas for the front porch go out the window i end up throwing a wreath up there and calling it a day.
I love too how those smart lil wimps stayed inside. Lol thanks for braving the cold for us. Love all your decorating.

Love this, you did great with hiding the fact you were freezing.
Being cold 90% of the time I kept thinking she’s not even cold out there.

Very very beautiful. You are very easy to watch and I enjoyed your instructions. Thanks and Merry Christmas

You have a beautiful home. Love the front porch decor. That will definitely help me do something new on my front entry next Christmas. Thanks!!

You are very good at what you do. Love your style. Your home is beautiful. Love your 2 little dogs, they are so cute. Which your store was closer to PA! ❀

You pulled that together so well. I just love your taste! You choose such beautiful colors to make it look elegant! Yes I am watching Christmas DIY video Easter time. lol

Just found this video and it definitely put me in a July holiday spirit!! I noticed that you have a painted brick home. Did you have it painted or was it already painted and would you recommend painting brick? It definitely looks so much better but I'm afraid my husband wouldn't let me do it. He's a little old fashioned lol ❀
I just wonder how it holds up over time and how often a person would have to repaint. Thanks for all of your videos, I always enjoy them
