Business Office Decorating Ideas|Small Office Design

Hello, I’m Jennifer, with Jennifer
decorates and today I have got five tips to help you create a gorgeous business
office. I’m in my store right now and I hope to show you more later on that
another time but what I want to show you first is this really cool door that goes
into my office. My husband built this for me, the whole office. We were in the
middle, I found this door at the flea market
and called him and said “please don’t frame out the doorway! I’ve got a perfect
door!” Had the original glass in it and all I did was put a coat of polyurethane
on it and I got it for a hundred bucks. Yeah, I was screaming all the way to my
car. Come on in, the first thing you see when you come in my office is this
gorgeous wall with this huge 60 inch clock. The wall was sheetrock but let me
show you real quick you’re not going to believe it, this is paneling from the
home-improvement store. My husband nailed that up and then I did a faux treatment over the paneling to create the look of old brick I get a lot of compliments on that when
people come in to see my office. Let’s look back here on this wall – I’ve got a
huge mirror that really helps to reflect light and make my office look a lot
bigger than it is. Underneath I’ve got console these are my design
books and I have baskets because I can tend to get messy. This basket is full of paint samples for clients, this basket I’ve got a whole
bunch of fabric samples that are my favorites and this is just my
miscellaneous messy basket. Over here I’ve got a hook up for my purse and
another basket for overflow of whatever I’m bringing in. This is the most
important part of my office. This is my coffee station. The girls come in and fix
their coffee. One of the coolest things, I’m a huge, I’m kind of a wimpy coffee drinker, I have to have a lot of cream so I don’t want to run to the other side of the
store and I found this little refrigerator on Amazon. Look how little, it’s like the
Barbie refrigerator and my coffee cream like fits in there perfectly.
Yeah, brilliant! Next in my cute little refrigerator, I keep this basket full of
water to refill the Keurig and then I just have some more of my design books
and then up here my mom and dad. They watch over me. So let’s look at, oh my
drawers, I love my drawers! I’m gonna show you all that so I got the console with
drawers, K-cups and tea, Splenda, whatever the overflow is but again, put
it in there, close it and I don’t have anything that looks messy! So let me show you my desk since my office is small I want to kind of keep it visually open
so I got this desk that has just open shelves and again I’ve got baskets to
hide in my stuffs and the coolest thing is this was a splurge this is my office
chair. If you’re gonna spend a lot of time in a chair, you’ve got to have a
comfortable one. This one swivels, it goes up and down, very comfortable and of
course I think it’s really cool-looking, so I talked to my husband into that one.
Now, let’s talk about this wall over here! So I have people that come see me-
clients and the girls and husband, they all come sit and chat so I have
comfortable chairs but also low profile because I don’t have a lot of room. I’ve
got a table that sits between the chairs with a lamp and again, open, looks great
up against that brick and then I hung two drapery panels to kind of cozy up and
warm up the room and then just two more square mirrors on each side I don’t
usually do a lot of mirrors but I just thought those were kind of cool, so I
love them. Let me show you one other thing, it’s this light up here. This is my
favorite and lighting is really really important
in your office. Now I have got one, two, three lamps in here and you’re probably
gonna say, “okay Jennifer, I’m not coming into my office and turning off three lamps!” Okay,
this is the coolest thing ever we found it on Amazon. It is, we called the “light
clicker”. It comes with five different little plugins that go in the wall. You
can plug each lamp in and you can really essentially turn off each lamp one at a
time but I’ve got mine all plugged in on the same one and it turns them off in one
click all of my lamps. So I just come in and click it on, makes it extremely easy!
So let me recap the five tips on creating a great business office: Number
one, extremely important, is your lighting. If you’re just working under fluorescent
lighting, get some lamps! Number two, is wall decor. Don’t be afraid
to go big on a small wall. Number three, is mirrors. That opens up any space whether its your home or your business. Number four, furniture. If you can choose your
furniture for your business office choose one with a little character and
choose one that’s not quite so big and bulky. Then number five, this is most
important, and that is design around productivity and what I mean by that is
if you’re coming into an office that’s dusty and dirty and cluttering it’s time
to clean it out add new lighting because it will help your productivity soar. Now
if you’d like to create this wall, this gorgeous faux brick wall, I have got the
link to the exact brick below, as well as, to the cute little refrigerator and the
light clicker. I hope you enjoyed this video. Be sure to subscribe to my channel. We’ll have a new video out next week and I hope you have a great day!

Wow gorgeous office!!! Love everything about it. I am obsessed with your style of decor. Lovely pic of your mom & dad πŸ’•Hope you & your family have a nice weekend! Btw would love to see little Molly again πŸ˜‰πŸΆ

Hi Jennifer, I love your office!! You have awesome taste and are so down to earth!! What is the name of your store? Are you online? from Dawn W. ..have a great weekend..:)

Great tour of your office Jennifer, thanks! I noticed you used the blue patterned drapes with the gray furniture, do you use navy a lot with gray? I have a gray sofa in our living room and wondering if I should go with a brighter color? Thanks😊

I think a lot of people go for French Country/Farmhouse and it ends up being French Farm Clutter.

I love your style Jennifer! ❀❀❀ Modern, rustic and vintage looking decor all beautifully working in the same space! …. without being cluttered

I love it!! I am moving to Florida next month and will be using some of these tips when decorating our new home office!! This is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!

Hi! I am a new subscriber and I am so HAPPY I found your channel. I just love how you decorate and explain. I love your silk flowers and just everything you do. I wish I lived near you..haha!!!!

Hi Jennifer. I just discovered your channel as I was surfing YouTube for ideas on transforming a walk-in closet into an office. The space I'm converting looks like it's similar in size to your office, and I love what you did. I have two questions. First, I noticed you don't have a PC and monitor on your desk. That's a must for me. Any suggestions for how to minimize the PC's profile and all the attendant cords so that the look remains clutter-free? Also, I noticed your brick wall has very bright spots of light on either side of your desk but I never saw the light source. Is this from recessed lighting in your ceiling?

really nice !!! i love it !!! i have also to decorate my office but it's look like just only white withput life , i wanted mix new zealand style and British style , i think wallpaper is just the key ,because i have lot of things , big clock same style as you with sylver fern and wood things …. thank you !

Lovely!!! I would have to add a little more greenery and maybe a pop of color somewhere but to each his own πŸ’–

New subscriber here. Absolutely gorgeous office and I’ve definitely taken some pointers. Love the wall, clock, and chair especially. Thanks!!

Oh my gosh! I just discovered your channel tonight. I'm moving stuff around already and it looks so much better. I'm subscribing now.

do you do any actual work? Sorry my goal is not to be a troll however it looks as if you built a non work space.

Even though I was looking for a post about the Psychological effects of office spaces, I watched your video anyway. Very cute design and you have a new Subscriber.

I love this office setup for my own business ROYAL LAW ENTERTAINMENT MRSBILLIESMITH

This is AMAZING!!! I love picking stuff that is not costly and glam it up. And you did THE FULL THING. You're so talented. CONGRATZ!!!

This is the best office design I found on Youtube. Now trying to replicate it in my home office. Thank you for sharing!

Nice decor but the whole house is one color. I think adding some color will really bring the furnishings more attention.

Love your videos but stop using keurig coffee makers and k cups. They are very bad for the environment. Also use a pitcher to bring your water.

I absolutely love this office. That door! I would be running and yelling β€œstart the car!” all the way to my car as well if I got that for $100. Nice. I watched your wall schmear video and plan to try this; was the technique exactly the same or did you scrape off more of the roll-on texture as I really want the same outcome as your office wall. Thank you!

Hi Jennifer. I love your style!! Please, please share where to find the steel desk lamp. It's beautiful and perfect for my office!!

I'm redoing my home office and love your style. I had never thought of doing a "statement" hook for my purse, but would love to! Where did you get your hook (is it DIY?) and also where is your purse from? Love the classic tan saddle leather.
